Celebrate your tiny baby with an unforgettable cake smash session! If cake isn't your preference, we can always explore the joy of a steak smash, spaghetti smash, fruit smash or any other creative ideas you may have in mind.

Your baby's session will be custom created just for him or her.. Choose between a custom themed set or a simply cake session (with a minimalist approach). We will meticulously plan out all of the details for your baby's session prior to the big day. I provide everything except the cake/food of choice (for allergy reasons) . If you have something special you would like to have included, simply let me know. We will begin with some timeless portraits of your baby, them move onto the smash and end with a little fun in one of my tiny tubs. 

Upon booking, you will receive a Preparation Guide filled with valuable tips to get ready for your session. Let's create lasting memories together!

BIRTHDAY BABIES

Sandra has done it again! We first met Sandra when my son was born and we scheduled newborn photos. We came back when he was 8 month olf for some milestone photos. Last week, my baby turned one so we celebrated with the most adorable cake smash session. I was a little nervous, as he is a bit more shy now than he was 4 months ago, but I should have known. Sandra is so gentle and patient. These photos are the cutest thing I have ever seen.

CONSULTATION
All sessions begin with a conversation. This is when I get to get to learn a little about your baby's personality, likes and dislikes. It is also a great time to discuss theme ideas, a simple set or something in between. 

SESSION
This session tends to be filled with a whole lot of silliness and fun, and often lots of energy. Everything, except the cake, will be provided for you. We start with some "clean" photos and baby mugs then move onto the cake and end with a splash in our tiny bath. 

ORDERING
Get ready for the emotions and for cuteness overload! How can your baby already be one! Your Ordering Appointment is where you will get to first see the images we captured, choose your favorites, and select how you want to enjoy them.

DELIVERY
Possibly the most exciting part. You may have already seen your baby's finished portraits digitally, but nothing compares to seeing them printed. Deckled collages and Albums seem to be the most popular choice for my cake smash clients. 

CAKE SMASH FAQS

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO SCHEDULE A CAKE SMASH?

There are few options that all work well depending on your baby. Many of my clients choose to schedule their baby's session at around the 11 month mark. Separation anxiety is often lower at this age and most babies are quite walking, plus you can have images in time for your baby's first birthday part. Another popular option it so schedule the the session on the actual day of baby's birthday Still some parents like to wait until after the celebration, after all of the hoopla is over and life is back to normal. 

ARE THE DECORATIONS FOR MY BABY'S SESSION INCLUDED?

Yes! We have all the adorable details covered to make your baby's session truly unique and memorable. Your custom themed or simply cake session comes complete with decorations, a coordinating outfit, ONE letters, balloons (if part of the theme decor), a cake stand, and a cute mini tub for the splash portion. 

WHERE WILL MY BABY'S CAKE SMASH SESSION TAKE PLACE?

All custom styled sessions take place in my residential studio, conveniently located in Aliso Viejo, CA. Designing and crafting each set takes considerable time and attention to detail. If you opt for an outdoor simply cake this can take place in one at Orange County's beautiful beaches or parks.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING TO MY BABY'S SESSION?

You just need to bring your baby and milk should your baby need a snack. It’s not a bad idea to bring along a pacifier, we may not need it but its nice to know its available if your baby wants it. Everything we need for your baby’s session I have in the studio. I provide all of the props - everything from buckets and bowls, to wraps, bonnets/hats, accessories, etc. If you have something special you would like me to incorporate, please let me know in advance so I can plan for it during the styling stage of our custom session.

WHAT SHOULD MY BABY WEAR?

Don't worry we have that covered! We will talk about the perfect outfit for your baby's session during the styling appt. I also have a close full of cute outfits you can use for the traditional portraits portion. And of course, of you have a special outfit already or desire to bring along a special outfit, just let me know! I can even design the set around the outfit.

DO YOU SUPPLY THE CAKE?

Unfortunately, I'm unable to personally handle cake orders due to possible allergies. Simple naked or all white cakes are my personal preference and one nearly any bakery can make for you. If you prefer a more themed cake design I would be happy to give you some bakery referrals. 

HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION TAKE?

Cake Smash Sessions typically last about 45 to 60 minutes. Most baby's don't last much longer than that. The pace of the session is completely guided by your baby. Some babies need more time to warm up than others. The cake smash experience begins with some traditional and timeless birthday portraits, then we move on to the cake smash and conclude with some play time in the mini bath celebration.

HOW LONG AFTER THE SESSION WILL I GET TO SEE MY PHOTOS?

Your ordering appointment will be scheduled within 3 to 7 days after your session date.This appointment is where you will get to view your photos for the first time. At this appointment you will be able to select your favorites and decide how you would like to take them home. My editing process takes about 2 weeks from the time you choose your images, to when the products will be ordered and digital copies will be delivered.

HOW DO I ORDER MY IMAGES & ARTWORK?

I offer an array of products for you to choose from. I have partnered with some of the best labs in the to ensure that your products will be long-lasting and beautifully display your memories in your home. Albums, Folio Boxes, and various forms of wall art pieces (ie: acrylic, canvas, metal, wood and framed prints) are popular with my clients. For my full list of package options and pricing, please reach out. This is the best part! We will meet up within a week of your session for you to view and choose your favorite images. You only take home just the images that you LOVE! Ordering Appointments can take place in person or via an online video chat. Just send me a couple images of your walls, and I can show you exactly how your images will look during your appt or if you prefer, I can come to you and help you piece together beautiful products that will go perfectly with your home.
